I’m Katie. I’m an enthusiast for fitness, a connector, a motivator, and a very part time fitness instructor. I’ve attended cycling and other fitness classes since high school, and when I finally set roots down in Lincoln, Nebraska in 2014, I decided it was time to start teaching a few of my own classes. In the midst of reaching new goals in mid distance running races, I teach a resistance training class (think all weights, zero cardio), an indoor cycling class, and a cross training class once per week. Currently, I hold a certification in Schwinn Cycling and am working toward my ACE group fitness instructor certification. While the YMCA does not require certification beyond CPR/First Aid, learning to teach participants the most safe, effective and efficient ways to work out is a major goal of my own. Part of why I love this part time job is getting to meet, motivate and challenge participants. Bringing personality and music makes of breaks a fitness class for me, and that is constantly on the forefront of my mind. I’ve often been asked about playlists and workouts, so here you go!
